About our funding

We hold two grants rounds per year. This year we are looking for proposals wanting to work with young women and girls who have been in the criminal justice system or who are at a high risk of entering it.Funding is available for work with girls aged 11-18 in the following areas – county lines and gangs, the care system and school exclusions.
Please read our criteria closely for our definition of what we mean by this, as we will not fund diversionary activities that address issues such as anti-social behaviour. For further information about the types of interventions and projects we support, please see our section on our Current Funding Opportunities.

The application process has three stages. 1. Following the completion of our eligibility checker you may be able to submit a short Expression of Interest. 2. If the Expression of Interest demonstrates a close fit to our criteria we will invite you to submit an online application that will be reviewed by our staff team and Trustees. 3. Applicants shortlisted at this stage will then be asked to host an assessment visit with our Director either online or in person. This is an opportunity to find out more about the work you do and the project you would like us to support.

To ensure that we support the projects that best fit our strategy, we visit more organisations than we can fund. We want to meet you in person rather than just reading about what you do in your application. Our Trustees then have the difficult job of deciding which applications we will go on to support with funding.

Grant Round Focus for 2026

Our first funding round in April will be supporting projects that work with young women and girls aged 11-18 in the following areas – involvement in county lines and gangs, those who are care experienced and those who are either outside of education or at risk of school exclusion.

In funding round 1 applicant organisations will need to be either ‘led by and for’ women and girls or be able to demonstrate that they are ‘issue experts’ working on one of the named areas we want to support. We will ask you to evidence this at several points in the application process so if this is not the case please do not submit a proposal as it will be rejected.

Our second funding round in September will be supporting projects that work with young women aged 17-30 in the following areas – young women already in contact with the criminal justice system who need holistic support to help them more away from offending, such as maintaining tenancies, securing and retaining jobs and building secure and healthy family relationships; pre-release and through the gate support for young women to meet their immediate needs; and support for mothers prior to and after serving a custodial sentence.

In funding round 2 applicant organisations will need to be either ‘led by and for’ women and girls or be able to demonstrate that they are ‘issue experts’ working on one of the named areas we want to support. We will ask you to evidence this at several points in the application process so if this is not the case please do not submit a proposal as it will be rejected.
