ONE SMALL THING – TRAUMA INFORMED QUALITY MARK
Triangle Trust works with One Small Thing to support organisations wanting to apply for their Trauma Informed Quality Mark. We support organisations wishing to apply for all levels of the Quality Mark and contribute to the cost of the application and the staff time required to work through the application process. Grantees wishing to apply, must ensure that they have completed the Quality Mark application prior to completing their Triangle Trust grant. To better understand the benefits and process of having the Quality Mark, read the Changing Tunes’ case study or find more information on One Small Thing‘s website. Examples of organisations who have applied for the Quality Mark can be found below:
St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge
Award: Achieved the Bronze Quality Mark, July 2025
About: SAHWR is a charity that provides support to vulnerable individuals (including single women and men, families and pregnant women and young girls) who are survivors of domestic abuse, including domestic violence, sexual abuse, financial abuse, harassment, and stalking, psychological abuse, online and digital abuse.
Their feedback:
‘Reflecting on making the decision around whether to go for Bronze or Silver, we’re so glad we went for Bronze. Although Bronze is around reviewing and planning, it has had a considerable impact on bringing together the staff team and interactions with the people we work with.’
One piece of advice to new organisations signing up: ‘Take your time in the preparation piece, be kind to the process and trust yourself in the journey. Don’t feel that it’s going to be this great, big overnight change to your service- let the journey be gradual. Make sure you have checkpoints for you to reflect back on and look at how far you have come, because you will be amazed to see the small changes and what a huge difference they make’
Crossroads Care, South East London
Award: Achieved the Bronze Quality Mark, July 2025
About: Crossroads Care South East London provide a range of services to unpaid carers of adults and older people, parent carers with support needs across Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding areas.
Their feedback:
Would you recommend other organisations to do the Quality Mark? ‘Without hesitation. It’s a very meaningful framework for any organisation’s growth and development, and it’s strengthened relationships across the team as well. It’s made an impact across our practice at every level.’
The most useful part of the Quality Mark ‘… was the framework it gave us to reflect on what we already had in place, and what we needed to do to move forward and embed trauma-informed practice further. Getting everyone involved was really important – they didn’t realise how trauma-informed they were in practice and the work they delivered, so that was a real positive for us as well.’
The biggest impact ‘… was looking at our supervision policies and our supervision process and making that more trauma-informed. The team now feel more empowered as well and feel safe to share things that might be difficult – it’s been a big shift which is really positive.’
Credibility and visibility after achieving the Quality Mark ‘It showcases us to our other partners that we are delivering trauma-informed community care out there, which strengthens our position. We’ve made lots of people aware that we have achieved the Quality Mark – public health, local authorities, other voluntary organisations, our funders, and we think it will make a real impact.’
