Investment Policy Statement

The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund is an endowed charitable trust. We finance our activities from our investment portfolio which is currently managed by CCLA and Quilter Cheviot on our behalf. Further information can be found in our Annual Report and Audited Accounts which can be downloaded via the link below.

Responsible Investment – The profitability of the Trust’s investment portfolio is vital for the continuation of long-term grant making. Whilst we seek to maximise our returns there are some industries which appear to be in direct conflict with our own charitable aims and objectives. The Trustees do not wish to invest directly into companies in the following areas: fossil fuels, tobacco and weapons and defence.

In addition, the Trustees do not wish to invest directly in alcohol, gambling, high interest lending and pornography, but investment will be tolerated where a company’s annual revenue from one of these areas is less than 5% of that company’s total annual revenue.

While the ethical restrictions are not considered to be so restrictive as to be likely to impact long term performance, we encourage our Investment Managers to engage in positive screening to proactively invest in companies with good Environmental, Social and Governance records.

The Investment Policy will be reviewed on an annual basis and the restrictions that are in place will be considered against any performance implications.
