Carer grants 2020

2020 carer grants awarded

2020 has been a slightly different year for us as a funder a due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Triangle Trust Trustees decided to focus our funding for organisations supporting unpaid carers on addressing some of the immediate challenges that were caused by the pandemic. Invited applicants were offered the opportunity to apply for funding of up to £10,000 to support their staff, ways of working and ultimately the unpaid carers they work with.

This proved to be a vital resource for organisations.  We quickly granted £213,596 of funding to a total of 29 organisations through a specially developed light touch application and grant approval process.

These grants have made a significant difference to the resilience and capacity of these organisations and helped them to provide much needed support during the first few months of the pandemic.

Our response so far has supported:

Over £210,000 was distributed to charities supporting unpaid carers in May and June 2020 during the early days of the pandemic

It was all very unexpected and the swift response and allocation of this grant enabled us to adjust very quickly to respond to need
